Description[]
Seedchlin is a very small bipedal reptilian monster which lives in only specific areas of the Monster Ranch world. Common characteristics of a Seedchlin includes a bald, ovular-shaped head, two short legs ending in sharp claws and a short tail, which it uses for balance.
Being so small it is mainly insectivorous, feeding on ground-dwelling beetles and flies. However it has been observed to use its sharp claws to dig for roots of grass and weeds when other food is scarce. These claws are quickly blunted from digging and from general wandering around, and as a result Seedchlin have developed a way of sharpening their claws on knife-edged flint stones found commonly in the areas where they live. This use of flint as a tool has led scientists to believe that Seedchlin may in fact be more intelligent than previously thought. Further study is currently being undertaken.
To avoid predators, Seedchlin hide themselves in long grass clumps, which they rarely stray out of. Bushes are another common hiding place, yet they often are home to other monsters which Seedchlin try to avoid if possible. After mating, a female will lay her eggs in a small pit in the middle of a tussock of long grass for cover. If any other monsters happen to stray into the nesting site, the female will guard her eggs ferociously, despite her small size.
